The JUCO World Series for 2020 has been canceled due to the concerns over COVID-19.

The NJCAA made the decision on Monday to cancel all spring competitions for the rest of the school year including the Junior College Baseball World Series.

In a statement, JUCO says, "Following the recent recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NJCAA has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming basketball championships as well as spring competition, effective immediately."

It is the first time Grand Junction will not host the tournament in over 60 years.

JUCO tournament chairman Jamie Hamilton says plans are being made to refund money to people who have bought tournament passes.
