Castro found guilty in murder trial

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- BREAKING: David Castro has been found guilty of 2nd Degree Murder, as well as Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

The jury reached a verdict Wednesday afternoon.

Jury deliberation started Tuesday in the David Castro case, who was being tried for his part in the murder of Kyle Free last year.

Free was reportedly killed in the garage of Rebecca Walker in April of 2018. Walker is believed to have called Castro and John Eddy over to her house.

Free was shot and left for dead in the garage. His body was found several months later in a remote area of the grand mesa.

"We're very relieved that we're getting justice for Kyle and we have two more cases that we've already started working on. We're pursuing those to the max as well," says Kyle Free's mother, Robin Graham.

Castro will be sentenced on December 4th. Two more trials out of the five people involved in the murder of Free are still to come. Timothy Russman's trial is set for January. John Eddy's trial is scheduled for March.
