Kids make Valentine's cards for first responders

PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- By the way, February is the month of love. Here's your heads up that Valentine's Day is just days away!

Sometimes the best way to show our love is through a card. So, some kids got together Friday afternoon at the Palisade community center to show their appreciation and support for first responders.

"We wanted to show just our support of both of those departments and kind of help get the kids involved as well, and it's the anniversary of Deputy Derek Geer," said Renaya Demarest, Palisade Parks and Rec.

The class was for kids younger than five. Some of the cards they made will go to the Palisade Police Department, while others will go to firefighters and the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
