GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)- The Grand Valley welcomed another centenarian to their ranks.
Fruita resident Lena Davenport turned 100 years old today.
She was born on January 13th, 1920 in Loma.
Her husband was in the service and Lena became a nurse.
Davenport shared a bit of wisdom that we can all use. “Be kind to everybody. Do right. Love one another. Stop all of this hate. That's what I’d like to see done in this world.”
Lena says the secret to a long life is garlic and wine.
She also says she never smoked.
