Library keeps veterans' stories alive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Veterans Day is Sunday. The Mesa County Library is hoping people will never forget what veterans have done for our country, or their stories.

They are in the process of recording and interviewing veterans in Mesa County. Their stories will be documented and kept at the library, and online, for future generations.

"Our expressions that we have cannot be transcribed on books or anything, you have to be able to see the person to know what they felt, and what they said, and the inflections in their voice,” said R.D. Round, a Korean War veteran who was interviewed for the project.

Round’s story will be uploaded to the library’s website soon. To watch the interviews of all the veterans, follow the link on the side of the article.
