GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - You might've seen some of Tim and Carrie Cooney's pictures around in local galleries… The couple has hiked all of Colorado's 13 and 14ers and has an amazing portfolio to show for it.
Tim and Carrie Cooney have summited over 800 peaks in the 40 years they've been climbing. When Tim was put out of work at 62, he knew it was going to be difficult to begin another career. He and his wife asked themselves: how could they make money doing what they love? That's when they began to focus on their photography.
"Sometimes, when you're doing some of these peaks and you're looking at them and thinking to yourself, "That looks impossible, how in the world are we going to get to that summit because we don't perceive a route?" We've found that if we just have the faith to stick with it, a route always opens up,” says Tim Cooney.
It's this persistence that allows them to share the beauty they experience with others; no hiking shoes needed.
The Cooneys photographs are all available for sale; if you can't make it to a craft show around the valley, you can check them out online here
