GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Statewide, nonprofits exceeded their donations goal for Colorado Gives Day and that was the case for local charities, too.
39 charities set up shop at Mesa Mall from 10 to nine yesterday with hopes to exceed last year’s donations. Money is still being counted, but so far, they’ve already raised 35-thousand dollars more than their goal.
“We just encourage people to continue this movement of generosity and for the agencies that participated this year to raise more than they thought they would, (that) will benefit them and our community so much… It’s really a good thing,” says Joy Thompson, executive director CASA of Mesa County
