Man accused of burying Kyle Free’s body pleads not guilty

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- One of the men accused of burying Kyle Free’s body up on the Mesa last year pleaded not guilty in court Friday.

Timothy Russman is being charged with accessory to first degree murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. He was the only suspect, of five, who was able to bond out. He pleaded not guilty at a review hearing Friday morning.

According to an arrest affidavit, Russman wasn't involved in the actual murder of free, but Free's girlfriend at the time called Russman to dispose of Free's body. He allegedly buried him in a shallow grave on the Mesa.

Russman will face a jury in October.
