GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- UPDATE: The Mesa County Coroner has identified a 60-year-old man as the person found dead Sunday afternoon near a canal in Grand Junction.
The coroner said Keith Wadding apparently lived in Grand Junction on and off, and no injuries that would’ve caused his death were found during an autopsy.
Wadding’s death may be drug-related, but cause and manner will be determined after test results come back, according to the coroner.
Original story: A man was found dead on the banks of a canal near 17th Street in Grand Junction Sunday afternoon.
The Grand Junction Police Department said a man and two children were walking along the north side of the canal when they saw the body lying on the opposite bank and called an ambulance.
That was just after noon on Sunday. The Grand Junction Fire Department found the man dead when they arrived.
Police say the coroner will determine the cause of death after an investigation.
