Man found dead near Las Colonias Park

Authorities are investigating into the death of a man who was found near Las Colonias Park.

Grand Junction Fire Department responded to a reported medical call that came in just before 3 p.m. on Monday.

Crews showed up to the scene off of Struthers Ave. That’s where crews found a male deceased in a restroom by the Botanical Gardens at Las Colonias Park and requested law enforcement to respond.

The cause of death is still unknown at this time.

Officers from the Grand Junction Police Department are currently investigating the incident as a suspicious death.

Police say there is no immediate threat to the community.
