Man killed in car vs. pedestrian crash

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- UPDATE: The Mesa County Coroner’s office has identified the man who died as 59-year-old Fredi Hagen from Grand Junction.

Hagen’s cause of death is multiple blunt force injuries and the manner of death is accident, according to the coroner.

Original story: A man died after being hit by a car early Sunday morning on Highway 50 in Grand Junction.

According to Colorado State Patrol, it happened just before 1 a.m. Sunday near 29 Road on Highway 50. CSP says the man was dead when emergency crews got to the scene of the crash.

The car in the crash is a Ford Focus, and the driver is cooperating with law enforcement, according to CSP.

The coroner will release the man’s name after family is notified.
