FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- After living several years in New York, a Denver born man has decided to see the entire country, on foot.
Brad Morro is walking across the U.S. on the American Discovery Trail. His journey brought him to Grand Junction and Fruita on Wednesday.
He says his hope is to dive deep into the heart of America, while learning about people, interacting with them and hearing their stories along the way.
So far, he's trekked 5,500 miles, starting in Delaware. During his walk, he's met people across all social, religious and political backgrounds. Brad says everyone has been kind and sincere.
“The best part about the American Discovery Trail has been the Americans. The people I've met along the way. How generous and open and varied politically, religiously, how different the orientation is with them. My interactions have been largely the same with them, which is sincere,” said Brad Morro.
While he's had a positive experiance with people, Brad has battled bad weather like tornados and blizzards. He’s even run into poison ivy.
Brad hopes to complete his journey by the end of the year in Point Reyes, California.
