GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The man who shot at a sheriff's deputy, hitting the deputy in the lip -- was back in court Friday.
26-year-old Gabriel Milligan’s lawyer is asking for his $1 million cash-only bond to be reduced -- the judge decided to rule on that later.
Milligan allegedly shot at a Mesa County Sheriff's deputy in their patrol car in mid-October. He and another person were pulled over in the area of 30 Road and D Road for a traffic stop before fleeing.
Deputies say shots were fired at the patrol car during a brief pursuit. Milligan will be back in court for a preliminary hearing in January.
He's being charged with assault on a peace officer and criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder, among others.
