GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT News)-- Despite the Riverview fire, the rest of Grand Junction and the whole of Mesa County was on pretty good behavior.

Local law enforcement says they issued no citations in the city or county for illegal fireworks. Police say they issued one D-U-I. Countywide there were more than 130 calls made to the 911 dispatch center about fireworks complaints.

"We have deputies who are also wild-land firefighters. We had two engines that were staffed yesterday and they were busy fighting a major wildfire in the Redlands yesterday," said MCSO spokeswoman, Megan Terlecky.

In the lower elevations it is extremely dry, which poses a bigger fire danger.
