GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - If you’re a renter in Grand Junction, you know how hard finding housing can be sometimes.
A new development just south of the Rimrock Walmart might make that a little easier. A nearly 200 unit apartment building is working to house the growing population in Grand Junction. The complex will offer studio, one, two, and three bedroom units and will have amenities catered to Grand Junction, like bike storage and a bike repair shop. The development has bigger implications for the community.
“It’s a good start. Again, we’ve got so much pent up demand that it’s not going to solve our problem, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction. And again, as people who move into these apartments, they’ll free up other apartments in the Valley for those who may be looking for something a bit more moderately priced," says Diane Schwenke, CEO of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce.
As far as the timeline goes on this development, construction is planned to start soon and leasing will begin next fall.
