On Wednesday, The University of Colorado had their fourth annual CU Celebration in Grand Junction, to honor new CU students from the Western Slope.

Students and their families were welcomed by CU President Mark Kennedy. These students will be attending one of CU’s four campuses this fall. More than 170 students registered to attend.

"Having a program offered and giving a list of majors that you could possibly go into. There's variety to learning more about the school," said transfer student, Amy Wellington.

About 30 new students shared their thoughts about going to college. Students also had the chance to ask questions about financial aid, majors and life on campus.
