PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Suicide prevention has become a big movement in western Colorado.
A group of Palisade High School students are bringing attention to the issue while building inner strength. They're putting on the first ever Sources of Strength Stroll. The event will include a one-mile color run.
There will be a food truck and other activities. All designed to build awareness about suicide prevention and hope.
“Our main goal is to just spread awareness. We're inviting all the D51 middle and high schoolers to participate and run a booth, like a carnival booth, and we're here just to spread awareness of suicide prevention and all the positive things in life you can access instead of negative ones,” said Alexandria Jenny, PHS senior.
The stroll is from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 13 at Primary Care Partners.
