MESA, Colo. (KKCO) - Powderhorn is introducing some new lodging options just in time for this ski season.
The six tiny homes at the base of the mountain became available for rent yesterday. The units varied in style and size but most comfortably sleep between four to eight people. Powderhorn recognized the need for additional housing but wanted something more creative and interesting than just a big hotel.
“A core value here at Powderhorn is that skiing should be accessible and affordable; we’ve introduced past products and learn-to-ski products all designed to get more people up on the hill skiing and enjoying the outdoors. The tiny home development fits right in with that core value,” says Ryan Robinson, Director of Marketing and Sales for Powderhorn Mountain Resort.
Some of the tiny homes still need a few finishing touches but they'll be ready a week after the resort opens.
Powderhorn is the only resort in Colorado offering this type of lodging for skiers.
We’re told this is just phase one and that Powderhorn will be looking at adding as many as eighty to a hundred tiny homes for rent and purchase in the future.
