GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A Pro Trump rally took place today where Congressman Scott Tipton and others came out to kick off the 2020 election season.
It was a big turn out today for the event that opened with a prayer and The Pledge of Allegiance. There was general excitement in having one less democratic candidate on the ballot after Beto O’Rourke withdrew from the race on Friday, especially from one of the speakers. A Colorado woman, owner an open-carry restaurant in Rifle, made national news earlier this year by confronting the politician on his stance on gun control.
“I really just believe that this is a time more than ever for people to stand up for what they believe. This is not a time to back down and cower down and be quiet. This is a time to express what you love about America and really fight for her like never before, because there are people coming in and just trying to take over. And they’re giving it all that they have,” says Lauren Boebert, a speaker at the event.
The second amendment, the efforts to impeach President Trump, and out-of-control government spending were all on the minds of attendees.
The rally went on from twelve to two today off of B ½ road.
