Property values are increasing… That’s according to Mesa County.

While that’s a positive for many people, it could also mean that taxes for those properties are likely to increase.

That’s why the Mesa County Assessor’s office will send out Notices of Value (NOV).

The office will send NOVs May 1st.

Mesa County Assessor, Ken Brownlee says that you should look into the estimated market value of your property and if you don’t agree you have until June 3rd to file a protest.

Brownlee reminds homeowners that the value of your property is based on its value on the appraisal date.

That is June 30th of the year before the reappraisal year.

Brownlee says that this will be the largest increase in more than ten years.
