GJPD: Teen shot in Orchard Mesa, another teen arrested
One teen was injured and another arrested after a shooting in Orchard Mesa Wednesday evening.
It all happened around 6:30 p.m. on the 1700 block of Christopher Court, near Unaweep Avenue.
The Grand Junction Police Department said a 14-year-old boy was shot in the back. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital.
The hospital said that victim had not been released but was in good condition.
A 15-year-old boy was arrested for second degree assault, reckless endangerment, illegal use of a weapon and possession of alcohol by a minor.
Police said they are still unsure if the shooting was intentional or accidental.
According to authorities, there were several teens at the party, and alcohol was involved.
Investigators were talking to all of the teens.
