Rim Rock Run

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Around 500 runners braved the cold this morning for a worthwhile view.

The Rim Rock Run took place from eight this morning to one this afternoon. The scenic route took the athletes from the Colorado National Monument’s East Entrance in Grand Junction to downtown Fruita. The race offered a marathon, a half marathon, and a 12-K, all panoramic views of red rock plateaus and canyons.

“I think I saw people of every ability level so even if you’re not a runner, I think you could easily come out here. Train a little bit, walk, run some of it… It’s beautiful, like it’s the best way to start your day,” says runner Anna Dacosta.

The proceeds of this race go to benefit the CMU Track and Cross Country Scholarship program.
