GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) A rockslide early Tuesday morning has shut down part of I-70 from Highway 82 to Dotsero in Glenwood Canyon. As of 11 am on Tuesday the Eastbound lanes re-opened but an 'extended closure' is possible for westbound as crews clean up rocks along the roadway.
According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, the closure is from Highway 82 to Dotsero.
CDOT says the large slide happened at 1 a.m. There is reportedly a lot of debris on the road.
There is some damage to the westbound side, but they will not know the extent of it until daylight.
CDOT says the closure will likely be in place for an extended amount of time.
