Scams increase over holidays: What to watch for

(KKCO/KJCT)-- Those scam phone calls and emails can be annoying, but for some adults, they create confusion, too.

Admit it, sometimes those calls and emails can look real. Scammers are working overtime during the holidays and we're all vulnerable.

A recent report from AARP shows Coloradoans age 50 and older might be at an increased risk to fall victim.

Some of the potential holiday scams to watch for are those involving online shopping, gift cards, shipping packages and charitable giving. To report a scam, or ask about a potential scam call the AARP Foundation ElderWatch helpline: 1-800-222-4444.
