Shovel your sidewalks

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- Another snow storm and those cold temperatures sticking around mean things can be slick, and unsafe.

If you didn't know, it's your responsibility to shovel the snow and ice around your homes, including the sidewalk.

One Grand Junction woman is hoping people will get out and do that. She and her family walk a lot and take the bus, but in weather like this, it can be dangerous.

"I fell last week and hurt my back, and my mom has fallen, she hasn't fallen this year, buts she's fallen in previous years and if she falls again she'll be really hurt," said Mary Hanley, who wants people to remember to shovel. "I'm concerned about her and I don't want her to fall and hurt herself, or anybody for that matter."

If you don't shovel and de-ice around your property, you can get a fine. Possibly up to a few hundred dollars.
