GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- As of this week, any kid under 18 in Mesa County can get a free lunch from the D51 Lunch Lizard.

The food trucks make their way to parks and schools around town every weekday during the summer. Friday was the official kick-off at Lincoln Park, there were plenty of booths and activities to help kids work up an appetite before the Lunch Lizard got there.

Kids went around collecting stamps on a passport, to earn free entry to the pool. Lincoln Park is one of the busiest stops along the Grand Junction route.

"We have six different stops, some we have 20, others we have 100. So there’s a lot of kids, we have a lot of camps that come with us, but a lot of them are low-income families, or families that just want to come to the park and eat for free,” Shiloh Fox, Lunch Lizard kitchen manager said.
