The Grand Junction Police Department says they have arrested 21-year-old Brachon Hyer of Grand Junction for the killing of the woman found dead on Thursday at the Emporium. He is also being charged with Aggravated Robbery and Theft.

The GJPD says officers and detectives contacted the suspect at 3:00 p.m. on Friday off of 27 Road and G Road after a party called in saying Hyer confessed to the murder.

On Feb. 6, police originally responded to a call around noon of a person who was found unresponsive at the Emporium store on 21st Street and North Avenue.

When police arrived, they found the female to be deceased and immediately labeled the death as "suspicious."

Last night, the GJPD released pictures of a "person of interest." We believe the man arrested is the same person shown in the photos.

Hyer has been remanded to the custody of the Mesa County Detention Facility.
