GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Some woke up to a winter wonderland, others woke up to just a dusting of snow this morning.
The snow storm that came in from the West is expected to drop the heaviest snow fall on the Front Range, but parts of the Grand Valley saw upwards of three inches. The roads were especially slippery this morning because we saw rain before we saw snow accumulation.
“You’re always going to want to have an emergency kit, something like a flash light, a blanket, food, water, because you never know if a road is going to be closed, you’re going to have to pull over, if those visibilities are too low,” says chief meteorologist Nikki Sheaks.
CSP says since midnight, we’ve had 6 crashes in Mesa County and 12 instances of CSP being called to assist someone slipping off the road.
