Grand Junction downtown nightlife staple, Thunderstruck Valley, is no more. The place is under new ownership and has a new name: Twisted Turtle.
"Thunderstruck was bought out by a local guy in town,” said Will Jones, assistant manager of Twisted Turtle. “We’re changing the name to Twisted Turtle. [The owners] want to bring a new, fresh nightlife to Grand Junction.”
They are in the process of making a few changes to the inside and once they get approval from the city to change the sign, Jones said the outside will look different too.
“It’s just a place for everybody to come hangout and have a good time,” said Jones.
Some locals that hangout downtown are calling the shots with their own ideas.
“It's fun for the most part, the top area could get a little more relaxed. It’s just too packed up there in my opinion. The downstairs could have more games, like corn hole or something,” said Dominic DeCarlo, a CMU student.
