Western Slope's first cat cafe to open at end of month

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- The Western Slope’s first cat café and lounge will be opening at the end of June.

A Clowder of Cats Cat Lounge will open its doors on June 30. It's a place where adoptable cats from CLAWS and cat lovers can mingle and hang out.

"You kind of get to know them in a little bit more intimate setting, and decide if they'd be a good fit in your home,” said Austin Stewart, Owner of Clowder of Cats Cat Lounge. “Kind of help get them the exposure they might not get in a shelter environment where they're in a cage."

They'll have eight adoptable cats hanging out that can be adopted on the spot. They said all snacks and beverages are pre-packaged, so it's all clean.

There is a $3 to $5 entrance fee with a veteran discount.
