GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- A woman has been charged with attempting to drive off a cliff at the Colorado National Monument with four kids and two dogs.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Mesa County Sheriff's office, 42-year-old Jessica Garcia was arrested on four counts of attempted vehicular homicide and four counts of child abuse.

Police say they received a call at the end of March from a 13-year-old saying Garcia was planning to kill him and three other children on the Monument.

Investigators found the car stopped about ten feet from a cliff. They say Garcia told the children the earth was "corrupt" and she wanted them to be "with Jesus."

She's being held on a $5,000 cash only bond.
