GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT)-- After Monday’s snowstorm, the City of Grand Junction has all the main streets plowed and cleared. But, some side streets are still pretty snow packed and icy.
The city says they don't have the resources to plow every residential street, and that you wouldn't want them to. They'd be forced to put the snow along driveways and sidewalks.
They say there are troubled areas in residential areas that they do treat and clear, places like assisted living facilities and hilly areas. But for the most part, their goal is to have you drive on no more than one untreated road before getting to a treated one.
They say the upcoming warm temperatures, even Thursday’s sunshine, plus the possibility of some rain in the days ahead should help clear out those side streets.
