Funeral today for slain Colorado deputy
A funeral for a Colorado deputy, killed in the line of duty is set to take place Friday morning.
The funeral for Deputy Zackari Parrish will take place at 11 a.m. at Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch. The public is allowed to attend.
Deputy Parrish was killed Sunday morning after responding to a report of a disturbance at an apartment complex. Deputies said within seconds they were under attack by a gunman.
The suspect was killed and four other deputies were hurt. Parrish leaves behind a wife and two young daughters.
There will be some road closures for the funeral procession. Northbound I-25 will have rolling closures between Founders Parkway and Lincoln Avenue, between 8:45 a.m. and noon.
More than 2,000 cars are expected to be part of the funeral procession.
