Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons was the guest speaker at the second annual Northwestern Colorado Fellowship for Christian Athletes Fundraising Banquet.
The event was held at the first Presbyterian Church here in Grand Junction.
Those in attendance were able to enjoy dinner and a silent auction that included a football helmet signed by 25 past Super Bowl MVP’s.
As for Simmons, he talked about what it meant to speak at the event.
“Right now my platform is the NFL,” Simmons says. “I’m able to reach a certain community that not a lot of people are able to reach. Once that's all said and done I’ll be given a new platform wherever God takes me next. All in all this platform is exciting and it's a huge blessing and I’m very thankful for it."
