JUCO World Series: Florence Darlington treks to first World Series

Well there are a lot of teams that going to the JUCO World Series isn’t their first rodeo, but for one team in particular this has been a once in lifetime experience.

The Florence Darlington Tech Stingers come into the JUCO World Series riding a winning streak of 15 games in a row.

For the Stingers it has been a year of first, they became the first team to win a regional tournament and the first team in program history under 32 year old Preston McDonald, to make it to the Junior College World Series.

The team did have to find additional funds to make it to Grand Junction but it’s all worth it to them in the long run.

"We have played well and we have had some good teams, but we just haven’t quite been able to get here yet so this is big for the program it is big for Florence Darlington Tech,” said Head Coach Preston McDonald.
