Grand Junction’s Shayne Hagin was invited by the Denver Broncos for a training camp tryout on July 30th.
Shayne was diagnosed with autism back when he was three. He's been a huge broncos his whole life and it's been a goal of his to be a part of Broncos’ practice.
Tim Hagin, Shayne's dad, promised him that one day that dream would come true. Tim wrote a Facebook post about his son's story and after word-of-mouth Shayne is training camp bound.
"It makes me so proud,” Tim Hagin says. “I'm a man of my word. I told my son that I would do what I could. I was lying in bed here when I did that first post. And I said, 'You know what? I’m going to try this. I'm going to give this a shot.' and I did. And this is where it ended up. So I just feel proud that I was able to keep a promise to my son."
Broncos training camp is going on now through August 12th at the UCHealth Training Center in Dove Valley.
