CMU Women's Basketball: Lady Mavs throw away lackadaisical play

CMU women's basketball led in their game against MSU Denver for over 37 minutes including an eight-point lead at halftime.

However, the Roadrunners shot 15 more free throws and made some key plays down the stretch to earn a 69-65 win.

"I don't know if in our minds we thought we had already won at halftime," said senior Erin Reichle. "Everybody in this league is good so I think we just need to have the mindset that no matter if we're up by 20 anything can happen. So I think that maybe we thought we relaxed a little bit."

The Lady Mavs look to bounce back on Friday and Saturday when they hit the road to take on Chadron St. and Regis. Chadron St. is at the bottom of the conference at 1-7 while Regis is at 4-3.

"We just have to finish," said head coach TAylor Wagner. "That's finish possessions, finish quarters, finish games. That's kind of the focus that we've got to go and when we can put all that together we should be on the better side of the outcome."

Tip off at Chadron St. is set for Friday at 5:30 P.M.and at Regis on Saturday at 5 P.M.
