HS Girls Basketball: Warriors plagued by close games

The Central girls basketball team 11 losses have come by an average of eight points.

Their last three losses coming by a combined 11 points.

“I think there is some things that we have been doing wrong at the end of the game,” said head coach Mary Doane. “Some things like ill-advised shots or some turnovers at pivotal times that they didn’t do on Friday night. Hopefully that is something that we can keep doing throughout."

Central jumped back into the win column with a win 43-39 over Montrose on Friday night.

"Just like how much effort people are willing to put in and how bad we want it," said senior Jaylyn Rodriguez-Alton. "Like sometimes we just forget fundamentals."

The Warriors will go on the road to take on No. 7 Fruita Monument. The Warriors lost to the Wildcats by 14 back on January 9.

Tip off begins at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday from Fruita Monument high school.
