The Grand Junction Tigers qualified nine wrestlers to this weekend State wrestling tournament with six of those being regional champions.
The Tigers didn't win the team title at Class 5A-Region 1 title falling to Brighton, who scored 264 team points to claim the team title.
The state tournament will be a whole different monster with the 16 of the best wrestlers in the state.
"The state tournament is a different ballgame. Regional's was really weak and when you have a weak region like that a team that is more balanced will come out on top. Come state time it should be a different story, " said senior Josiah Rider.
The Tigers will kick off the state tournament on Thursday with the preliminaries round at 7:15 P.M.
