CMU Baseball: Four Mavs taken on draft day

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Four CMU baseball players were taken on day three of the 2018 MLB Draft.

Starting pitcher Kyle Leahy was the first to go. He was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 17th round.

Leahy went 7-2 with a 4.81 ERA in 14 starts recording a team-high 85 strikeouts and just 17 walks.

Leahy is an All RMAC First Team performer and D2 Conference Commissioners Second Team selection. Leahy went

13-0 with a 1.41 ERA during his sophomore season.

Fellow pitcher Reagan Todd was taken by the Rockies in the 32nd. round. Todd was 7-2 with a 3,60 ERA. He also hit .259 with four home runs and 16 RBI's/

Infielder Zach McLeod was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 33rd round. McLeod hit .325 with seven home runs and 44 RBI's. He was also a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-Region Second Team selection.

Last but not least, right-handed pitcher Jake Mielock was taken in the 40th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
