GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The GJ Havoc ended their competitive softball season as the 16U Mountain State Champions after winning the tournament in Loveland over the weekend.
The Havoc used just two pitchers, Kelty Key and Mikayla Sturns, the entire tournament.
It was probably the best feeling I've had in a really long time," said Key. "It's like the feeling that we came so far as a team. It was fun that we all played together."
Key won tournament MVP.
As a team the Havoc scored a combined 82 runs while allowing only 22 runs during the tournament. That's a run differential of 7.5.
"It kind of shows that this is a small town but it doesn't matter how small-town it is," said Shaelyn Grant. "There are still girls that are going to show up and show you how to play."
The Havoc end their season at 17-2.
