GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Matt Holliday finished up his short stint with the Grand Junction Rockies on Wednesday.
Holliday went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk in his only game with team. Before that, the Rockies saw him take batting practice and go through his game day routines.
Although Holliday was only in Grand Junction for a few day, it didn't stop the young Rockies from picking his brain.
"Nutritional-wise he takes really good care of his body," said first baseman Grant Lavigne. "He decides what he's going to eat and makes sure it's going to be good for his body, and it's going to help him prepare for the day and hopefully the games he's going to play."
Holliday also told the team about playing in the majors.
"He talked about how playing at Wrigley and Cardinals stadium," said outfielder Niko Decolati. "During the day we were talking about how cool it was to play at those old stadiums. He said he played at the old Yankees Stadium as well and how the atmosphere during a midday game feels like you're playing back in history."
Holliday now heads over to the Rockies Triple-A affiliate Albuquerque Isotopes.
