CMU Volleyball: Team begins fall practice

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) CMU volleyball began their first day of fall practice on Monday.

The team will be doing two-a-days to prepare for the Concordia-Irvine Invitational on August 24 and 25 in California.

"Two weeks of two-a-days is very exciting because we can be in the gym so much more and get so many more touches before we play," said senior Taylor Woods.

Woods and fellow senior MacKenzie Edwards along with junior Samantha Ritter are the key players returning for the Lady Mavs.

Edwards was a First Team All-RMAC performer. Woods made the second team while Ritter was an honorable mention.

Last year CMU's season came to an end after falling to MSU-Denver in the first round of the RMAC Tournament.

The team thinks multi-practice days will help them get ready for the season.

"I think that's really going to help us get out bodies ready for the long haul of going through the RMAC Tournament, regional's and everything like that," said Edwards.
