GJ Rockies: Pioneer League outshines Northwest League

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) After scoring four runs in the bottom of the eighth, the Pioneer League All-Stars outlasted the Northwest League All-Stars, 13-10, in the first minor league all-star game in Grand Junction.

Grand Junction Rockies infielder Coco Montes went 2-3 with a home run and six RBI's in the win.

Grand Junction outfielder Niko Decolati added a hit as well while first baseman Grant Lavigne went 0-2.

Rockies relievers Reagan Biechler, Aneudy Duarte and Alexander Martinez combined for 2.1 scoreless innings of work.

Nathan Eaton of the Idaho Falls Chukars went 5-5 with two RBI's and two-runs scored for the Pioneer League as well.

Second overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft Joey Bart went 2-3 with a three-run home run for the Northwest League.

Both teams recorded 16 hits in the game.

Northwest League All-Star Curtis Terry of the Spokane Indians defeated David Frye of the Helena Brewers to win the home run derby. Terry hit 23 home runs in the two rounds combined.
