GJ Rockies: Brewers out-slug the Rockies at home

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Grand Junction Rockies led 2-1 after the 2nd inning over the Helena Brewers on Saturday night, but then the wheels fell off. Helena would go onto score 14 runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings combined for the 15-7 win.

Alejandro Mejia got roughed up in his start going just 3.2 innings allowing 10 earned runs on 10 hits for the Rockies. He took the loss his 4th on the season.

It was a big night offensively for the Brewers center fielder Pablo Abreu. The Dominican Republic native only went 1-5 at the plate but hit a grand slam in the third inning that opened the flood gates for Helena.

The Rockies will look for the series win on Sunday at Suplizio Field with first pitch set for 5:00 P.M.
