GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) The Grand Junction Rockies could not recover after allowing a five-run first inning in the team’s 8-5 loss to Idaho Falls.
The Chukars’ first-inning runs came via Chase Vallot's grand slam and a solo home run from Nick Hutchins.
Hutchins hit two home runs on the night.
Trailing 5-1 in the fourth inning the Rockies received back-to-back RBI hits from Joey Bartosic and Christopher Navarro cutting the Chukars’ lead to one.
Idaho Falls would add two in the sixth and Hutchins second home run in the ninth to secure the victory.
Cayden Hatcher gives up five runs on four hits in the start.
Micahel Agis suffers the loss allowing two runs in 2.1 innings.
The Rockies fall to 37-30 and 17-12 in the second half of the season. Grand Junction and Ogden are now tied for first in the Pioneer League South.
The final game of the series against Idaho Falls is set for 6:40 P.M. on Tuesday at Suplizio Field.
