GJ Rockies: Former outfielder Golden earns SAL MVP

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (KKCO/KJCT) Former GJ Rockies' outfielder Casey Golden was named the South Atlantic League MVP.

Golden is hitting .279 with 32 and 90 RBI's for the Rockies' Single-A affiliate Asheville Tourists. He is only the 13th player in Asheville professional baseball history ti reach the 30 home home run mark.

Former GJ Rockies' first baseman Cahd Spanberger was voted as the leagu'es top first baseman as well. He is hitting .315 with 22 home runs and 77 RBI's in 92 games before being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays organization.

Todd Czinege was also named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week. Czinege has a .325 batting average with 12 home runs.

He was called up to Asheville from Grand Junction earlier this season.
