GJ Rockies: Orem walks off against Rockies

OREM, Utah (KKCO/KJCT) Connor Fitzsimons’ RBI single in the bottom of the ninth completed the comeback for the Orem Owlz as they defeated the Grand Junction Rockies, 8-7.

Orem scored four runs in the eighth and ninth innings combined to earn the victory.

Michael Agis suffers the loss after giving up two runs in his 0.2 inning of work, including the winning run.

Eris Filpo went 6.0 innings allowing two earned runs in the start for Grand Junction.

Despite the loss Grand Junction recorded 16 hits but left 12 runners on base.

Coco Montes went 5-5 in the loss. Montes was one of five Rockies who had a multi-hit game.

With the loss the Rockies are now 38-31 and 18-13 in the second half of the season. With Ogden losing to Idaho Falls on Wednesday Grand Junction remains tied for first in the Pioneer League South.
