GJ Rockies: Early runs lead to win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) John Cresto's three-run home run in the third inning put the game out of reach as the Grand Junction Rockies topped the Orem Owlz, 5-2.

Grand Junction scored its first runs in the second inning after a Cresto RBI sac fly and a Hunter Stovall RBI double.

Cresto had four RBI's on the night. Stovall and Grand Lavigne had two hits each.

Cayden Hatcher earned the win going 5.0 innings allowing just two runs on four hits.

The Rockies received four scoreless innings of relief capped off by Alexander Maritenez's 18th save of the season, tying the Pioneer League record.

Martinez joins Michael Hat and Andrew Johnson for the top spot in league history.
