GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO/KJCT) Eight years ago Benjamin Hill, a writer for MiLB.com embarked on a journey to visit every minor league ballpark in the country.

He made his final stop of the tour at Suplizio Field on Tuesday night.

"The opportunity to keep getting on the road, to keep seeing new places just kept me going," said Hill. "I'm alone on the road and sometimes it can be stressful. At the end of the day i like just seeing a new place. I like waking and having to remind myself where I am and having to just tackle the day in a new location."

Hill has visited 159 ballparks within the eight-year span.

He threw out the first pitch, played fan games and even tried the Rockies' purple ice cream.

Hill also worked for the Vs. Cancer foundation which gives athletes the platform to help fight against childhood cancer. The Rockies' auctioned off a team helmet in which the proceeds were donated to the organization.
